Joint cooperation projects

The activities of EC4CI develop essentially in a spirit of partnership and we are delighted and proud of the first partnerships undertaken with the following organisations:

Philosophie & Management

Today more than ever, each one of us has to take decisions rapidly in an evermore complex world. The best strategy when events in our life are moving faster and faster, is often to step back and try to see things more clearly.

As an impartial form of questioning, philosophy always invites us to examine things around us, our habits, beliefs and prejudices. We believe that it can help those running organisations to question their paradigms, to free themselves from established models and doctrines, to think out of the box, to better distinguish objectives and means, to explore other directions and solutions to complex problems, and to take “better” decisions. It can help managers develop perspectives which are more complete, all-embracive and individual than preformatted toolboxes (continually updated by the latest management guru) are usually able to provide.

There are numerous types of questions upon which philosophy can shed precious light, from responsibility and innovation to ethics and forward thinking.

Belgian League of Optimists (Ligue des Optimistes du Royaume de Belgique)

Convinced that thought is the creator of reality, the Belgian League of Optimists aims to promote evolution in the mentality of Belgian citizens towards greater optimism. In so doing, it aims to strengthen enthusiasm, good humour and positive thinking, audacity and a spirit of enterprise, tolerance, and the harmony of citizens and their communities. The Belgian League of Optimists is the Belgian branch of the international association Optimists Without Boarders.

Trans-mutation

Following the success of its first edition, Trans-Mutation, the summer university of public and private managers, proposed this year to take time to think about this key component of our humanity and its development, and of the success of our organisations. Together we have tackled knowledge from different angles: economy, company, development, management and knowledge sharing, knowledge of oneself, of others, of our environment, knowledge and spirituality, and so on.

The formula of Trans-mutation is simple. Around twenty leaders of large companies each make up a table of eight persons, including a student or young person, with whom they debate questions introduced by invited speakers. The two hundred-or-so people involved came together for a day and a half to listen, share, and discuss with seven outstanding experts on change in today’s “knowledge society”.

The participants were all experienced speakers with strong messages: messages of change that they have expressed in books or publications. They came from different horizons (company, economy, philosophy, academic areas, medicine, association world, research, etc.).
